Georg Fischer has signed a purchase option agreement with the construction and construction services company Implenia for its Pantli site in Schaffhausen. The necessary subsoil investigations are scheduled for 24 and 25 April 2012.
Georg Fischer has owned the Pantli site in Schaffhausen since 1916. Formerly a staff housing complex, the company had planned several development projects for the site since 1975, none of which came to fruition.
In Implenia, Georg Fischer has found a partner capable of designing and implementing a long-term development project for rental and owner-occupier flats. Georg Fischer and Implenia signed a purchase option agreement for the Pantli site on 31 January 2012. The district masterplan for Schweizersbild-Pantli was approved by the Schaffhausen cantonal government as far back as 1998. One component of the project is a planned exchange of land between the Canton of Schaffhausen and Georg Fischer in Herblingertal.
The next step in this phase of the project is to conduct the necessary subsoil investigations. This will involve taking soil samples from eight to ten different points at a depth of around 5 metres. Assuming normal weather conditions, these investigations will take place on 24 and 25 April 2012.
