Herzogenburg Iron Casting

Herzogenburg Iron Casting

Herzogenburg – the city with approximately 8,000 inhabitants is halfway between the Westautobahn (St. Pölten exit) and the Danube west of Vienna. It is nestled in a picturesque landscape of orchards and vineyards.

Herzogenburg has a family-friendly vacation offering with numerous sites for outings like the Heiligenkreuz and Walpersdorf palaces, and several museums.

Four companies in two different locations represent GF Automotive in Austria. Three of these are based in Herzogenburg in Lower Austria, where around a quarter of all of the country’s foundries are located. In Herzogenburg, GF Automotive manufactures components using the iron casting and pressure die casting.

Until 2002, this was done in one company; now manufacturing is performed by two independent companies. One of these is Georg Fischer Eisenguss GmbH.
